3 Card Poker
3 Card Poker is actually two games, PairPlus and Ante and Play. The player has the choice of playing either or both. Both games are based on hands of three cards.
PairPlus
This is a simple game where the player is dealt three cards and paid out depending on the value of the cards:
Straight Flush Pays 40/1
Three of a kind Pays 30/1
Straight Pays 6/1
Flush - Pays 4/1
Pair Pays 1/1
There is no raising, folding or bluffing with PairPlus aan there is no skill involved. The house edge for PairPlus is 2.32%.
Ante and Play
First of all the player must contribute an ante. Then the player is able to view his cards and either raise (by doubling the ante) or fold (forfeiting his original ante), depending on what cards he has been dealt. If the PairPlus bet has paid anything that it is a good idea not to fold.
If you choose to raise then you will be involved in a showdown with the dealers hand. The dealer needs a Queen or better for the raise to stand. If the dealer does not have a Queen or better than the ante pays even money and the bet is returned. If the dealers hand is good enough to play and the player beats him then the player will receive even money both on his ante and his bet. If the dealer plays and beats the player both of the players bets are lost and in the event of a tie there is a push (stakes are returned).
There is also an added bonus in Ante and Play based on the ante put down by the player. Certain hands will result in an extra payout:
Straight Flush - Pays 5/1
Three of a Kind Pays 4/1
Straight Pays 1/1
Ante and Play has a house edge of 3.37%.
