Casino War
Casino War is widely regarded as the easiest of all casino games to understand and play and is based around the childrens game of War. The game of Casino War uses six decks of cards as standard with the card ranking applying in the same way as poker, with Aces counting as high. The suit of the card has no bearing on the outcome.
The players must first make their bets and then a card is dealt to each player in the game and the dealer. The winner out of the player and the dealer is determined by who has the highest card value. If the dealers card is higher than the players then the players bet is lost. If the players card is higher than the dealers then the bet is a winner and is paid out at odds of evens. If the value of the cards the player and the dealer hold are equal then the player has to decide whether to surrender, and lose half of his stake, or go to War in which case the payer has to double his original stake.
If the latter option is chose the dealer must then burn three cards (only relevant for live play) and deal another card to the player and the dealer. If the players card is higher ranked than the dealers he will receive even money on his raise bet and will receive a push on his original stake (stake returned). If the dealers card outranks the players, both of the players bets are lost.
The house edge for a six deck game of Casino War is 2.88%. There is of course a 50% chance of winning the original showdown but the house edge comes into effect whenever there is a tie, with either surrender or war being declared.
